Wilbur married Sept. 30,1857 to Nancy Christie (1836-1918) daughter of Robert Christie and Marie Boyd.
They moved from Ontario to Michigan about 1876. After Wilbur's death, Nancy and children moved to Nebraska.
They had four children:
(1) Esther Maria Adams (Sept.17,1858-Dec.17,1909) married John Neale (Jan.13,1849-aft.1900) native of Boston, MA, son of John and Caroline Neale.
(2) Marietta Augusta Adams (Nov.8,1860-Apr.3,1926) born in Owen Sound, Grey County, Ontario, married Frank Glass. She died in Brainerd, MN but buried in PA. They had three children:
- Frank A. Jr. (Dec.1883-Jan.15,1942), unmarried, died in Minneapolis, MN;
- May A. (Feb.15,1885-Feb.27,1974) married Orrin Ortho Williams about 1904 and had four daughters and two sons;
- Orianna Bernice (May 17,1891-Mar.16,1978), unmarried, died in Minneapolis.

(3) Frederick Joseph Adams (Feb.4,1870-Jan.19,1960) married Martha Blair Stone (Mar.1872-May 4,1961). Both died in Omaha, NE. They had three sons:
- Emerson S. (dept. manager for county)
- Payson S. (physician and surgeon)
- Blair S. (physician and surgeon)
(4) Wilbur (AKA William) Stewart Adams
(Aug.18,1875-Sept.26,1936)
married Hattie E. Stevens (Feb.1873-Nov.17,
1966). Both died in Omaha, NE.
(note - although his birth registration in Ontario indicates WILBUR as given name, he was known as WILLIAM in adult life and tombstone indicates same)
They had four children:
- Ward W.
- Edith M.
- Ruth E.
- Elmer F.
