Martha Catherine Ryan, 80, of Elwood died Thursday at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born April 5, 1920 in Ripley County she was the daughter of Fred and Dollie (Bright) Shrock.
She formerly worked at Aladdin Lamp and Danner's Store in Alexandria and Dickey Nursing Home.
She was a member of the Lighthouse Chapel.
She married Cletis R. Ryan, who died Sept 17, 1992.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathern Mottweiler and Frances Hershey of Elwood and Nancy Hoghe of Middle Point, Ohio; two brothers: James Shrock and Ervin Shrock of Elwood; 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son Cletis W. Ryan; and five sisters
Mae Majors, Cecil Rittenhouse, Mable Boyd, Mary McCord, Dortha Shrock, and 7 brothers: Robert Shrock, John Shrock, Paul Shrock, Raymond Shrock, George Shrock, Donald Shrock, and Daniel Shrock.
Funeral services will be at 1p.m. Monday at Dunnichay Funeral Home with Revs. Dan Schafer and Charles Finster officiating. Burial will be in Forrestville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
