Donald L. Shrock, 57, 390 W Sixth St., died at 5:55 pm Saturday, Sept 1, 1984, in Duke's Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Tipton County on Oct 30, 1926, to Frederick and Dolly (Bright) Shrock. He married Annis Orpurt on July 12, 1973, and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Donald Jr., Elwood, Frederick, Debray, Fla., and WIlliam, Peru; nine daughters, Donna and Laurie Fanalla, both of Schaumburg, Ill., Debbie Barefoot, Laurel, Miss., La Keita McGahey, Canoga, Calif., Joyce Faulstich and Sandy Updegraff, both of Elwood, Jane Clemons, Florence, Ala., Kathy Riley. Orange City, Fla., and Jeri Shrock, Elkhart.
Also, three brothers, John, Tarboro, NC., Ervin and James, both of Elwood; four sisters, Mae Majors, Arkansas, Cecile Rittenhouse and Martha Ryan, both of Elwood, and Mary Ann McCord, Wabash; and 31 grandchildren.
Mr. Shrock was employed by United Technologies. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and was a member of the Eagles Lodge and veterans of Foreign Wars.
Services will be at 1 pm Wednesday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Jones and the Rev. John Bartholomew officiating. Burial will be in Shrock Cemetery, Miami County. Friends may call from 6 to 9 pm today at the funeral home.
