Virgil R. VanDUYNE, 56, Indianapolis, former Rochester resident, died Monday at his residence. Born Sept. 4, 1918 in Rochester, he was the son of Frank and Grace SHELTON VanDUYNE. His marriage was in Kewanna to Alice SULEK, who survives. An operations engineer for Indianapolis Power and Light company, Mr. VanDuyne had resided in Indianapolis 29 years. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Mount Olive United Methodist church in Indianapolis and the Bridgeport Masonic lodge. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Byron (Mary) ZIMMERMAN, R.R. 2, Rochester; Mrs. Adam (Katherine) RENTSCHLER, R.R. 6, Rochester, and Mrs. Harold (Mae) CRILL, R.R. 4, Rochester; three brothers, Fred [VanDUYNE], R.R. 1, Rochester; Donald [VanDUYNE], Kewanna, and Robert [VanDUYNE], R.R. 1, Rochester; nieces and nephews; two uncles, Ray and Ralph SHELTON, both of Rochester. One sister and two brothers preceded in death. Final rites will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Foster & Good funeral home. The Rev. Robert E. GREEN will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Zion cemetery. Friends may call at the Conkle funeral home in Indianapolis from 7 to 10 p.m. today and at the Foster & Good funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday until the time of service on Thursday.
