Max William Baetz, 87, resident of Perry community since 1912, died at approximately 2 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 1993, at his home, southeast of Perry.
Funeral has been set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran church. Rev. Myron C. Maltz, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at Grace Hill cemetery under direction of Brown Funeral home.
Memorials have been established to benefit Christ Lutheran church or the American Heart Association.
Baetz was born Sept. 13, 1905, at Fairview, Okla. His parents were Max and Marie (Fritsche) Baetz. He and Meta Gorath were married at Perry, Oct. 2, 1929.
A long-time farmer, Baetz was a founding and charter member of the Farmers Coop, a member of the Farm Bureau and a past member of the American Angus association. He had been a recipient of the Soil Conservation Service.
Baetz was an active member of Christ Lutheran church where he had been an elder and trustee and a past member of the men's club.
In addition to his wife, of the home, survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald Max and Leta Faye Baetz, Perry, and Donald Gene Baetz, Poteau: one daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne Marie and Leroy Hodge, Perry; grandsons and granddaughers, Richard and Roni Folsom and Gary and Debbie Baetz, all of Perry; Jerry and Jana Potter, Red Rock ; Mark and Kari Baetz, Woodward; Larry and Stacy Novotny, Chattanooga, Tenn.; and Cary Don and Theresa Baetz, Tulsa; nine great-grandchildren and two sisters, Nena Thiele, Perry, and Marie Piel, Ponca City.
Baetz was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, four sisters, one daughter-in-law and one great-grandson.
