Lucy Josephine Vaira, 97, of Monongahela, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, in Christopher's Personal Care Home, Washington.

She was born Oct. 8, 1909, in Union Township, a daughter of the late John and Pierina Tronchati Moreschi.

Mrs. Vaira spent most of her life in Monongahela and was Catholic by faith.

She is survived by a grandson, David Partazana and wife Laurie, of Amity; granddaughter, Marcy Bryant and husband David, of Chesapeake, Va.; and two great-grandchildren, Heather Bryant and Alyssa Partazana.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Vaira; her son, David Partazana, in April 2004; and three brothers, Nople, Giacomo "Pope" and John Moreschi.

A graveside service was held today in Monongahela Cemetery with the Rev. Joseph Feltz officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to: Washington County Humane Society, P.O. Box 66, Eighty Four, Pa. 15330. The L.M. FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., Monongahela, was in charge of the arrangements.
