Funeral services for Leta P. Horton, age 99 of North Zulch, are set for 11 am Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of North Zulch with Rev. Brandon Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Willowhole Cemetery. Visitation hours are 5 to 7 pm Monday at the funeral home. Madisonville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Leta P. Horton was born on January 14, 1914 in the Hollis Community near North Zulch, Texas. Her parents were William Thomas & Pearl (Kimmey) Cantey. She grew up in North Zulch then moved to the Pasadena - Houston area where she lived for 10 to 15 years. Leta later returned to North Zulch where she lived for the last 40 years. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. Leta was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Zulch. Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by her first husband, Arlie Adams; her second husband, Bill Horton; parents; two brothers, Olen Cantey and W. T. Cantey and a sister, Ola Mae Coburn. She survived by two daughters, Arlene Brown & husband, Lewis of North Zulch, Marilyn DeLaro & husband, James of Sugar Land; a sister-in-law, Juanita Cantey of Bryan; 4 grandchildren, Rodney Jarrell, Kevin Jarrell, Leslie Gibbs and Carol Young; 10 great grandchildren, Bobby, Ben, Paige, Hannah, Kendall, Kirsten, Mark, Miranda, Mason, Kacelyn and 3 great-great grandchildren, Bentley, Bryce and Brent.
