Mary Jane Conner Rites Held Tuesday
Mrs. Mary Jane Conner, a resident of Taylor County all of her life, died at her home in Bedford, November 13. She had lived in Bedford the past 45 years.
Funeral services were held at the Wetmore Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Fred H. Cowles. Burial was in Fairview cemetery.
Mary Jane, daughter of Geo. W. and Rachael Beatty Green, was born August 16, 1869 near Clearfield, Iowa and grew to young womanhood there.
She was married to James D. Conner at Lenox and to them ten children were born. Her husband and three children, Jennie, Morris and Florence preceded her in death. Also her father and mother, two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by four sons, Geo. N. [icholas] and W. [arren] S. [umner] of Cumberland, Iowa, James Allen of New Virginia, Ansel of Clarinda; by three daughters, Miss Frances Conner, Mrs. Lloyd Hullinger of Bedford, Mrs. Fred Carmichael of Birds Eye, Ind., 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; one brother, William S. Green of Bakersfield, Calif.
