Auto Death Unavoidable
Toy Allen, Lincoln County, Struck, Killed By Car
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 28 [1936] -- Sheriff R. L. Lindsay, called early last night to investigate the death of Toy Allen, 28, who was struck and instantly killed by an automobile at Kelso, eight miles east of here, reported today that the accident was unavoidable.
Allen was reported to have been walking in the middle of the Fayetteville - Winchester highway at the time he was killed.
The car was driven by W. S. Fleming of Columbia, Tenn. He was accompanied by Misses Ellelee Boswell and June Walley and Richard W. Bolling, all of Huntsville, and was en route to Sewanee.
Funeral services for Allen were conducted by the Rev. H. J. Burroughs from the Cumberland Presbyterian church at Kelso at 2:30 o’clock this afternoon.
The victim of the accident is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Allen, and several brothers and sisters.
