Mrs. Kenney was the daughter of the late William P. and Pearl Brannon Deal. Though originally from Montezuma, she had lived in Athens since 1973. She served 14 years in the dental profession, and retired from Belk's as a salesperson.
Mrs. Kenney was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Athens, where she was also a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Kenney.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Steve Kenney and Jo Anna, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Barbara McCarty and James, of Danielsville, and Martha Johnson and Daniel, of Peru, Ill.; grandchildren and their spouses, Amy Harrison and Todd, of Brentwood, Tenn., J.J. McCarty, of Danielsville, Emily Weeks and Andrew, of Peoria, Ill., and Gus Johnson, of Peru, Ill.; and great-grandchildren, are Jake and Alexis Harrison, of Brentwood, Tenn. She is also survived by her brother, Larry Deal, and his wife, Joyce, of Athens, and sisters, Rosa Roberts, of Montezuma, and Sylvia Kopp, of Macon.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at Bridges Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Prospect United Methodist Church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prospect United Methodist Church, 334 Prospect Church Rd., Athens, GA 30606.
