Richard M. Deal, 65, died July 4 at home.
He was born in Headland, Ala., and lived in Montezuma most of his life. He moved to Statesboro in 1997. He served as vice president for many years for Farm Credit. He was a member of Statesboro Kiwanis Club and First Presbyterian Church of Statesboro.
SURVIVORS: his wife of 38 years, Becky Counts Deal of Statesboro; a daughter, Starr Crist of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; two sons, Brannon Deal of Oviedo, Fla., and Matt Deal of Statesboro; seven sisters, Bernice Murphy of Newville, Ala., Doris Smith of Albany, Myrtle Horne of Moultrie, Elizabeth Kenney of Athens, Rosa Roberts and Miriam Andrews, both of Montezuma and Sylvia Kopp of Macon; a brother, Larry Deal of Athens; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: 5:30-7 p.m. today at Jake A. Futch Funeral Home, Statesboro.
FUNERAL: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church of Statesboro, burial in Sylvania Cemetery.
