William Elbert Easley was the second child of John Ellington Easley. He came to Big Valley and Chillicothe in 1886 with his family. [He] lived the rest of his life in that area, acquired a considerable amount of property, as well as helping build the community too.
He raised one daughter named Lola, who married Vernon Hafner. William Elbert Easley married Apr 19, 1893, Viola (Vantine) Easley. They helped pioneer the Chillicothe area together. After Lola's parents were gone she lost her husband, Vernon.
After Lola died, they gave a generous amount to schools, churches, cemeteries, hospitals, and their kin. They are buried in the Elbert Easley Plot in Big Valley Cem. Chillicothe, Texas.
