Descendant of the Mayflower Pilgrimage Voyage of 1620

Nathaniel Orrin Brewster and Delight (Winchester) Brewster were both natives
of Vermont. The Brewster family is also of English extraction and of Mayflower
stock, and Nathaniel's great-grandfather fought for the independence of the colonies in the Revolutionary war. After their marriage Nathaniel O. Brewster and wife removed to Washington County, New York, where he engaged in the lumber business and had extensive farming interests. His wife died there September 1, 1860, at the age of sixty-seven years, and his death occurred in Richfield, Minnesota, April 1, 1871, when he was eighty-one years of age. They had a family of nine children, namely : Loretta (1821-1899) married Joseph Benjamin and both died in Delmar, Iowa ; Benjamin W. (1822-1887) married Sally Benjamin and both died in Ragan, Nebraska; Joel (1824-1908) was an extensive cattle man, married Jane Hathaway and lived in Montrose, Colorado, and at eighty years of age was able to spend an entire day in the saddle looking after his cattle; Dennis (1826-1916) was a widower and resided in Lincoln, Nebraska; Orrin Carver (1829-1919) married Julia Baker and made his home in Salem, Oregon ; Harriet (1830-1922) was the wife of O.C. Bailey; Orson (1832-1922) married Armina Bailey, a sister of O.C. Bailey, and both died in Delmar; Emily (1834-1894) died unmarried ; and Mary Ann (1837-1927) was the wife of Robert Townsend, of Richfield,Minnesota.
