Mrs. Helen Johnson, 79, of Caruthersville, died Oct. 16, 1994 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis.

Born Nov. 15, 1914 in Tyler, she was the daughter of Claude and May Howard. She attended schools in Tennessee.

She is survived by her husband, Carmel "Sonny" Johnson of Caruthersville; Three sons, Ricky Lynn Hooper of Caruthersville, Roy Wayne Hooper of Steele and James Ed Hooper of Jacksonville, Fla.; Five daughters, Rebecca Kay Lee of Caruthersville, Wanda Lee McFarland of Steele, Linda Fay Babbitt of West Palm Beach, Fla., Peggy Jean Vance of Elgin, Ill. and Nora Elaine Seaton of Hughes, Ark.; A brother, Sid Howard of East St. Louis, Ill.; A half brother, John Mallard of Flint, Mich.;Three half sisters, Shirley Woods of Caruthersville, Frances Vail of Flushing, Mich., and Peggy Vance of Flint;Thirty grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and six
great=great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jerry Franklin Hooper and Marvin Ray Hooper; and two brothers, Jack and Don Howard.

Services were Oct. 19 at 3 p.m. at The Wesleyan Church, the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating, with burial in Pemiscot Memorial Gardens. H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville in charge.

Pallbearers were Terry Vance, George Seaton, Michael, Tommy and Dennis Hooper and David
Tinnon."
