Well Known Cambria County Farmer Dies of Leakage of the Heart
Last Saturday morning, Thaddeus C. Eakin died at his home near Fallentimber in Reade township, Cambria County, from leakage of the heart. He had been ailing for that past two years, but was able to be about up until a short time before his death. He was aged 67 years, 3 months and 26 days. Mr. Eakin was well known through out this section of the county having lived in the vicinity nearly all his life. He followed lumbering and farming and at various times held office in Reade township. He was a good husband, a kindly neighbor and friend, and will be missed by many friends. Besides his widow he leaves the following children: Allen, Wade, Austin, Clinton, Flora and Lillian, at home; Mrs. Pearl Youngkin and Mrs. Catherine Youngkin, of Reade township. Two brothers and four sisters are also living: John Eakin, of Windber; William Eakin, of Allemansville; Mrs. H. C. Flanagan, Mrs. Susan Gallaher, of Coalport; Mrs. Daniel Wallace, of Newark, N.J., and Mrs. George Gallaher, of Coketown, W.Va. Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 funeral services were conducted in the Beaver Vally U.B. church by the Rev. Hamilton of the Glasgow U.B. church, and interment was made in the Beaver Valley cemetery. Undertaker R. E. Hunter was in charge.
