Alfred H. Graves, 83, near London, died at 12:15 a.m. September 14, 1964 in Mercy hospital, Urbana after an extended illness. Born in Ross Co. September 16, 1880, to Henry L. and Lydia Gant Graves. He married Lucretia Sampson. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include his four sons, Olen A. of London, Hoyt of West Jefferson, Robert H. of Woodstock, and Kenneth D. of South Charleston; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Martin of Pontiac, Mich., and Mrs. Mary Jean Henry of near London; a sister Mrs. D.A. Marshall of Circleville; 24 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.He was also preceded in death by four children.

He has been a Madison Co. farmer since 1911. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union in London and was an elder and treasurer of the church for many years.

Services were entrusted to Lukens-Geer Funeral Home, London.
