(3) Sister to Claude Nichols, born September 1892, Thurston County, Washington. June 1900 Census Claude Nichols age 8, with his sister Avis Frances Nichols, age 11 listed as boarders living with Family of George W. Currier, at address #522 25th Avenue Seattle City, King County, Washington. Census of 1910 Claude Nichols, age 19, working as a seaman aboard the S.S. Schley out of Seattle, Washington. His Address is listed as Aberdeen Ward #1, Chehalis, Washington, where he lives as a boarder. Nothing is known about him. We are trying to find out anything that can give light to this mystery.


Washington State and Teritorial Census 1857-1892 shows Nichols family residing at Thurston County, Territory of Wasington. With parents John age 37, Nellie Grace age 25, Gladys Blanche age 6, Avis age 3, Claude age year old.

February 24, 1900 Federal Census Juneau, Alaska. Gladys Blanche, age 13 moved from Seatle Washington to 210 2nd Street, Juneau Alaska. Living with her aunt Lucinda E. Roberts, born 1855 husband Samuel Blackburn October 1848. Married January 28, 1875.

Gladys Blanche Nichols, married 1904 to Philip Findley McQuillan, Family bible says mother of twelve but we have only accounted for ten.
