MARY ANN was the daughter of Robert P. Chambers and Telitha Emeline "Emma" (Hogan) Chambers. She married George Washington Johnson on November 30, 1870, in Carroll County, Tennessee.

Mary Ann and George were the parents of eight children--Robert, Jobe, Rosie, Ada, Jim, Ellen, Telitha, and Mary. Mary Ann died 19 days after their last child was born. George never remarried after her death.
