WINNFIELD -- Henry Joseph Townsend, 81, died at 2:45 p.m. Monday in Winnfield General Hospital.
He was a native of Winn Parish, a veteran of World War I and a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Townsend of Winnfield; two sons, Earl W. Townsend of Joyce and H. D. Townsend Sr. of Winnfield; one brother, Jessie Townsend of Lake Charles; one sister, Audie McDaniel of Winnfield; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were to be at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Hixson Bros., Winnfield with the Revs. Gene Lindsey and Glen Griffin officiating. Burial was to be in Old Union Cemetery, Joyce.
