Mrs. Josephine Modesitt, 56 years old, wife of the late Albert D. Modesitt and a former resident of this city, died at the home of her son, Dr. J.B. Modesitt, in Milwaukee, late Tuesday evening. Mrs. Modesitt was formerly Miss Josephine Gibson, of this city for many years organist at the old Asbury chapel, Fourth and Poplar streets. Mrs. Modesitt is survived by two sons, Dr. J.B. Modesitt of Milwaukee and Charles C. Modesitt of Terre Haute; four daughters, Mrs. J.B. Crabb of Chicago, Mrs. Bess Snyder of Indianapolis, Mrs. W.J. Baysinger of Arcola, Ill, and Mrs. W.T. Gleasons of Terre Haute; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Snyder of Terre Haute and Miss Jessie Gibson of Chicago; two brothers, Charles and Frank Gibson, both of Chicago, and fifteen grand-children. The funeral will be held from the residence of the Mrs. W.T. Gleason, north of the city, at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Burial will be at Highland Lawn cemetery.
