Mary Ellen Dinger

Mary Ellen Dinger, 78, 109 Cypress St., Punxsutawney, formerly of Porter Township, died Sunday at her daughter's home in Washington Township.
Born Oct. 10, 1928, in Porter Township, she was the daughter of the late E. Earl and A. Winifred Weaver Lettie. She was married to Clyde E. Dinger June 26, 1947. He preceded her in death Aug. 1, 2000.
She was a member of the Dora Evangelical Church.
She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Darl (Betty Lou) Carr of Punxsutawney and Mrs. David (Nancy) Holmes of Falls Creek; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was preceded in death by three brothers: Duane Lettie, Jack Lettie and William Lettie; and two sisters, Katherine Bish and Leanna Matthews.

DINGER: Mary Ellen, 109 Cypress St., Punxsutawney, died April 29, 2007. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Deeley Funeral Home in Punxsutawney. Friends will also be received from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday at the Dora Evangelical Church. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Kenneth Alt officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Porter. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
