Earl E. Lettie, of Porter, a well known area sportsman and trapper, was dead on arrival at the Adrian Hospital here early this morning after being taken ill at his home in Porter. He was 74.

Born April 13, 1891, in Porter, he was the son of Frank and Pearl Adams Lettie. He was married October 22, 1912, to the former Winifred Weaver.

A resident of Porter all his life, Mr. Lettie was a retired miner. He was a member of the Groundhog Club and sportsmens clubs in Yatesboro and Porter. He was noted as this area's foremost animal trapper.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Duane Lettie of Dalis, PA; Bill Lettie of Yatesboro, and Jack Lettie of Punxsutawney, and three daughters, Mrs. Katherine Bish, of Dora; Mrs. Leanna Matthews of East Chicago, Indiana, and Mrs. Mary Ellen Dinger, of Punxsutawney R.D.4.

Surviving also are five sisters, Mrs. Lillie Elkins of Chicago; Mrs. Maude Kelsy of Troutville; Mrs. Mabel McGregor, of Punxsutawney; Mrs. Ellen McCauley, of Canton, Ohio, and Mrs. Virginia Dobson of Porter. He leaves also 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the family residence in Porter after 7 o'clock tonight. Funeral arrangements, under the direction of the Schenkemeyer Funeral Home are incomplete.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday afternoon for Earl E. Lettie, 74, of Porter, who died Monday.

The Revs. Jacob Troutman and Thoburn Stull will officiate at services in the family home in Porter at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery, near Porter.

Friends are being received in the family residence in Porter. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Schenkenmeyer Funeral Home.
