Mr. Dinger was born February 12, 1926 in Dora, the son of L.W. and Esther (Schrock) Dinger. He was married June 26, 1947 to the former Mary Ellen Lettie, who survives.
Mr. Dinger was employed as a farmer and coal truck driver. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Dinger was a member of Dora Evangelical Church, V.F.W., American Legion, Horse Pullers' Association and Armstrong County Mounted Posse.
In addition to his wife, Mary Ellen Dinger, surviving relatives include two daughters, Mrs. Darl (Betty Lou) Carr of Punxsutawney R.D. 4 and Mrs. David (Nancy L.) Holmes of Falls Creek R.D. 1: five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Elvin Dinger.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Dora Evangelical Church. The Rev. Kenneth Alt will officiate. Interment will be at Zion Cemetery in Porter.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Deeley Funeral Home of Punxsutawney and from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
