Hospital Chaplain Passes

Rev. Julius A. Hermens, S.J., 56, chaplain at the St. Helen Hospital for the past two months, passed away at the hospital Saturday.

The deceased was born Aug. 4, 1901, in Verboort, Ore. He was a pastor at St. Patrick's Church in Spokane prior to moving to Chehalis, and was formerly a teacher at the Seattle Preparatory School and Bellarmine High School in Tacoma.

Survivors include a brother, John Hermens, Portland, and three sisters, Mrs. William Jacobs, Portland; Mrs. Catherine Bride, Beaverton, Ore., and Mrs. Cecilia Vandehey, St. Paul, Ore.

The body will be sent to Spokane and Requiem Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church at 8 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will follow at the Mount St. Michael's Cemetery at Spokane.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fissell Mortuary of Chehalis.
