Catherine Bride
Catherine Bride, former McMinnville resident and mother of Scio Catholic Priest, Father Harold L. Bride, passed away Monday, November 4, 1974 in St. Vincent Hospital in Portland. She was 79 years old of age.
Mrs Bride was born in Verboort, Ore. She lived in McMinnville from 1910 to 1942 when she moved to Independence. She had been living in Beaverton since 1957. Her husband died in 1958.
Survivors include sons Leo, of Seattle Wn., Rev Harold L. of Scio, and Louis of Portland; daughter Dorothy Sullivan of Banks; sister Celia Vandehey of Gervais; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Rosary was 7:30 p.m. Wed., Nov 6 in Macy & Son Funeral Chapel in McMinnville. Mass was at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. James Catholic Church in McMinnville, with her son Fr. Harold Bride officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Lou was born in the McMinnville area to Victor and Catherine Bride. A graduate of McMinnville High School and the University of Portland, he served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific in WWII and spent most of his career as an engineer with Tektronix. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Adelina; daughters, Eileen Bride, Andrea Bride and Cecelia Marrs; seven grandchildren; and one great- grandson. He was predeceased by his first wife, Bernadine; and son, Bill (Sandy). He will be remembered at a memorial Mass at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Portland. The family suggests donations to the University of Portland in lieu of flowers.
