FUNERAL SERVICE HELD WEDNESDAY
Louis Hermens died January 28 at the age of 84 years and 20 days. He was a resident of McMinnville.
Mr. Hermens was born in Wisconsin and came to Oregon when 17 years of age, moving to McMinnville in 1908. In 1888 he was married to Willemina Kreiger who preceded him in death. Mr. Hermens was a farmer by occupation, and a member of the local St. James church.
Survivors are his son, Rev. J.A. Hermens, Yakima, Wash.; John Hermens, McMinnville; daughters, Mrs. Kate Bride, Independence; Mrs. Adeal Jacobs, Portland; Mrs. Rose Vandehey, McMinnville; and Mrs. Cecelia Vandehey, Gervais; four sisters, Mrs. John Van Dyke and Mrs. John Peters, Forest Grove; Mrs. Peter Kreiger, McMinnville; and Sister Juliana, Beaverton.
Recitation of the Rosary was held at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening and funeral rites at the St. James church Wednesday, February 1, at 10 a.m. Interment was in St. James cemetery.
