Hazel "Jane" Mauldin Nash was born in Palestine, Texas on Dec. 4, 1928. She was one of a set of triplet girls born to Alma Pearl White Mauldin and John Hazle Mauldin. Her sisters were Alma June Mauldin Gibson and Shirley Jean Mauldin Stuart. She also had a brother, Don L. Mauldin, as well as three half siblings, Carroll Lavelle Cheves, Harley Merle "Mutt" Cheves, and Coleen Margaret Cheves Sutherland.
On March 19, 1947, she married Alvin Lewis Nash Sr. Their children were Tommy Wayne, Hazel Merle, Linda Kay, and Alvin Lewis Jr.
