William was the son of Lavalette Kinney and Jane Butler.

He married Mary Jane McKellips in Beloit, Kansas, on Feb. 27th, 1879.

"Services For W. M. Kinney

Funeral services for William Marion Kinney, 85, were held Monday from Kuelbs Funeral Home with Rev. O. H. Cleveland officiating. He was born in Hancock county, Ill. September 5. 1855 and died at the home of his daughter in Peshastin, September 7, 1940.

He was an old pioneer of the valley, coming to Cashmere 39 years ago and living here and in Dryden and Peshastin since that time.

Surviving are three sons, Green Kinney of Seattle, Harlan of Leavenworth and Marion of Marysville; one daughter, Mrs. Jessie Boswell of Peshastin; 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

During the funeral services, O. B. Simpson sang two songs, "Rock Of Ages" and "The Old Rugged Cross", accompanied by Mrs. Simpson at the organ.

Pallbearers were nephews, Kenneth Robertson, William Simpson, Charles Pinkerton, Paul Kinney of Wenatchee, Jay Simpson of Leavenworth and Victor Best of Peshastin.

Interment was in the Cashmere cemetery beside his wife who died in 1932."
