WINNFIELD - Services for Cecil Frank Collins will be at 2:30 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, Winnfield, with the Rev. Danny Keyes and Dr. Calvin Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery, Atlanta, under direction of Southern, Winnfield.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. today in Memorial Chapel at Broadmoor Baptist Church, Shreveport, with Dr. Tom Harrison officiating.

Collins, 68, of Stonewall, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, in Willis-Knighton Pierremont Health Center, Shreveport.

He was born in Atlanta and was a veteran of the Korean War. He served as a school teacher and principal in both Winn and DeSoto parishes, and also in Alaska. He taught at Southeastern State University and served as supervisor in the central office of the DeSoto Parish School System. In addition, he built numerous houses and several subdivisions throughout north Louisiana. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Collins Sr.; one daughter, Cheryl Collins; two brothers, Richard Collins and Billy Collins; and three sisters, Dorothy Attaway, Rebecca Sharp and Helen Dalton.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Collins of Stonewall; three sons, Dr. Timothy Collins and Douglas Collins, both of Winnfield, and Kerry Collins of Clinton, Miss.; two stepdaughters, Debbie Jordan Bennos of Flower Mound, Texas, and Stephanie Jordan Boss of Fort Worth, Texas; one brother, Edward Collins Jr. of Atlanta; one sister, Jennifer Madron; and 11 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Collins, Paul Collins, Wayne Sharp, Tyrone Collins, John Robert Crain and Steve Collins.

Friends may call from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Broadmoor Baptist Church or to the Gideon Bible Society.
