Glen M. Broyles, 86, of Plainfield, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 in Mesa, Arizona. He was born January 18, 1920 in Hendricks County, Indiana, to the late Luther C. and Hazel Ruth (Seymour) Broyles. He was a lifelong farmer in Hendricks County. He was a past county chairman for the Hendricks County Democratic Party and former trustee of Washington Township. He was a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash in 2000. Glen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plainfield where a funeral service will be held on Monday, April 10 at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call on Sunday, April 9 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Marie (Barlow) Broyles and a son-in-law, Mitchell Scott. Survivors include four sons and (wives): James G. (Anita E.), John C. (Anita G.), Jerry L. (Sandra), and Joseph L. (Lynn) Broyles; daughter, Joyce A. Scott; sister, Florence Ragsdale; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. Contributions may be made to the church building fund.
