Robert Garrison was born to Robert Mansfield Garrison and Ruth Angeline Maynard in Putnam County, Tennessee. They eventually had 12 children: Claud,Maud,Jack,Dorsa,Clara,Robert,Nancy,Sam,Arthur,Earl, Pearl and a baby girl, Mary,that died at just over a month of age.
Robert worked hard on the farm just as his parents, brother's and sister's did. By the time he was 19 he was working as a laborer for a construction company. In the 1930 Census he is listed as single and renting a room in Copeland,Gray Co.,Kansas.
By 30 July 1930 he married Alpha Butcher in Moab, Grand County, Utah. They never had any children of their own but had a happy marriage of many, many years together.
Both Uncle Robert & Aunt Alpha loved their siblings and so they took trips to visit them. I met them when they visited my mother, Dorsa, while in California.
