Jess S. Elwood

The funeral service for Jess S. Elwood will be held in Selene and Eros chapel this Saturday afternoon, starting at three-thirty o'clock. The Reverend Walter A. MacArthur, minister of the First Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will take place in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Jess S. Elwood died Thursday in an Olympia rest home following a long illness. His home was on 5222 Lacey Boulevard. Mr. Elwood was born in Washington, Kansas, and had lived in California and Nevada. He came to Lacey from Oregon six months ago where he had lived for 12 years. He had been a carpenter most of his life and retired 10 years ago. Surviving are his wife, Bertha G. Elwood, Lacey; two daughters: Mrs. Melba Swenson, Sequim, and Mrs. Maxine McFerran, Portland; two brothers: Ben, Ridgefield, Washington, and Leonard Elwood; also five sisters; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
