Mass for Joseph F. Madl, 89, Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Annunciation Catholic Church in Baldwin. The Rev. Vincent Kongs will officiate.

Mr. Madl died Sunday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 18, 1891, northeast of Baldwin. He was a lifelong resident of the farm where he was born. He was a farmer and stockman and also founded the Madl Implement Co. in 1937 in Baldwin. He retired in 1957. He also was a livestock hauler from 1932 to 1941. He served on the Prospect School Board for a number of years.

Survivors include four sons, Ralph, Robert and Alois (Bud), all of Baldwin, and Arthur, Wellsville; five daughters, Marian Madl and Mrs. Mildred Butell, both of Baldwin; and Mrs. Vivian Jacob, Katherine Madl and Barbara Jean Evilsizor, all of Lawrence; 18 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Baldwin. A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin. The family prefers memorials to the Annunciation Catholic Church in Baldwin.
