Services for Mildred E. (Madl) Butell, 85, Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Annunciation Catholic Church, Baldwin. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Baldwin.

Mrs. Butell died Friday, July 28, 2000, at the Baldwin Care Center. She was born Sept. 10, 1914, near Baldwin, the daughter of Joseph F. and Barbara P. (Hadl) Madl. She graduated from Baldwin High School in 1932.

Mrs. Butell worked for the Agriculture and Stabilization Conservation Services offices in Douglas and Jefferson counties. She was also a homemaker and a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

She married Herman C. Butell Jr. on June 10, 1940, in Baldwin. He died Sept. 9, 1983.

Survivors include three sons, Larry, Leo and Steve Butell, all of Baldwin; two daughters, Martha Ann Oberrieder, Topeka, and Barbara Jane Fry, Hesston; two brothers, Robert and Alois Madl, both of Baldwin; three sisters, Marian Madl, Vivian Clark and Barbara Jean Evilsizor, all of Lawrence; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
