Rachel Margaret Adaline Littleton was born on October 2, 1822, in Worcester County, Maryland, to Abraham Littleton (1775-1865) and Leah Littleton (1801-1880). Of their two children, Rachel Margaret was the eldest. The family moved to Ohio during the years 1837 and 1838. Rachel Margaret Adaline Littleton wed Ohio-born William B. Dennis (1818–1904), the eldest of the five children of Purnell J. Dennis (1790–1866) and his first wife, Sarah (Penniwell) Dennis. During the War of 1812, Purnell had served as a Private in Colonel John McDonald's Regiment of the 2nd Ohio Militia in Ross County, Ohio. Together, Rachael Margaret Adaline (Littleton) Dennis and William B. Dennis raised nine children all of whose Find a Grave Memorials are linked to each other and to those of their parents, spouses and children.
Rachael Margaret Adaline (Littleton) Dennis died on April 15, 1925, at Elmhurst in DuPage County, Illinois, and was interred several days later at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, seat of Douglas County, Kansas.
