Bruce Morton Garver, has managed this Memorial for Nelson Frank Dennis since the spring of 2021. Bruce's fifth cousin, Dennis Irvin Knox (1934-2018), is a great-grandson of Nelson Frank Dennis. Both Bruce Garver and Dennis Irvin Knox are fourth -great-grandsons of Samuel Garver, Sr. (Sept. 17, 1767, to Sept. 19, 1839) and Anna Elizabeth "Elizabeth" (Troutman) Garver (August 15, 1764, to April 15, 1836). Bruce Garver met Dennis during March 1979 at Oklahoma State University when Bruce delivered a public lecture there -- on Czech political parties in the Austro-Hungarian Empire (1867-1914) -- at the invitation of Prof. George Jewsbury of the OSU Dept. of History. Prof. Dennis Irvin Knox, having recognized the Garver surname of his maternal ancestors, attended the lecture and introduced himself to Bruce whose paternal Garver ancestors -- like Dennis Knox's maternal Garver ancestors -- had come to Hamilton, Ohio, from North Carolina at the advent of the 19th century.
