Donna was the seventh of twelve children born to Anderson and Blanche Franklin. She was born with the name of Dora Dean and changed it to Donna Deane. She was living in Chicago in 1927.
Her first marriage was to Jack O'Connell. They adopted three children: James, Barbara and Bruce. She was married second to Al Armstrong. She lived at 4290 Bullion Avenue in 29 Palms, California in 1974.
Donna died in November 1989 in San Diego County and is buried at 29 Palms Cemetery.
