GEORGE MERYS DEAD.

George J. Merys, died last night at his home at 1613 Kentucky street, of typhoid fever. He has not been sick long, but the last few days he has been very low, and there has been little hope of his recovery. The funeral will take place from the house tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock.

George J. Merys was born 25 Jun 1870 in Troy, Rensselaer County, New York; one of six children born to James Timothy and Sarah Maria (Brimson) Merys.

George was united in marriage 12 Dec 1891 in Joilet, Will County, Illinois with Alice Abigail Elizabeth Greenstreet; daughter of Richard Larimore and Ruth Lydia (Simmons) Greenstreet.

George and Alice were the parents of two children:

1. Albert Earl born 1893 married Elsie Clarabell Mosiman
2. James Richard (1896-1899)

George passed away 26 May 1899 in Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas at the age of 28 years. He was laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, Douglas, Kansas.

Alice remarried in 1900 with Edwin M. Campbell and relocated to California where they had a couple of more children.

Alice passed away 20 Mar 1950 in San Bernardino County, California at the age of 75 years. Location of grave unknown at this time.
