Funeral services for Mrs. Elnora W. Avery, 86, of Monroe will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Bro. Larry Wagoner and Bro. Russell Wagoner will be officiating. Interment to follow at Cypress Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Mrs. Avery was born September 23, 1922 in West Monroe and died February 22, 2009 in Monroe. She was 1939 graduate of Ouachita Parish High School. Mrs. Avery was retired bookkeeper, last employed by Osterland Recreation Center. Mrs. Avery had several favorite hobbies which included ceramics and crochet.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cull and Gartha Wagoner; brother, Marshal Dean Wagoner; sister, Lenora Scalfano; and her husband, Lee Roy Avery.
Survivors include her children, Ann Deas and husband Glen, Ron Avery and wife Sue, Becky Hunt and husband Dan; grandchildren, Tim Simmons, Leann Simmons-Rawls, Joshua Avery, Caleb Avery, Rachel Standard-Daigle, Aaron Standard and Joel Standard; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Culpepper Wagoner Jr., Roy Dan Wagoner, Julius L. Wagoner, Kenny M. Wagoner; sister, Laverne Hargrove.
Pallbearers will be Tim Simmons, Joey Rawls, Josh Avery, Caleb Avery, Aaron Standard, Joel Standard, Logan Avery and Lucas Avery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
