C. Raymond Brown, Franklin route three, died this morning at Franklin Healthcare Center. He was 72.
A service will be at 2pm Wednesday at Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home,Franklin, where friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. The Revs. Paul Palusko and Robert Shaw will officiate. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
He was born Sept 24, 1913, in Johnson County to Chalmer J. and Martha (Vandivier) Brown. He graduated from Franklin High School and Franklin College.
He married Sara Spargur June 1937 at the Union Christian Church parsonage. She survives.
A lifelong Johnson County resident, he retired in 1975 after 20 years as a salesman with Pickands-Mather Coal Co.,Cleveland, Ohio.
He was a member of Union Christian Church, a charter member of Franklin Elks Club, and past president of Double Y Saddle Club.
Surviving along with his wife are two sons, Gordon Brown, Franklin, and David Brown, Indianapolis; a daughter, Betsy Wanko, Franklin, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Woodrow Brown.
