While in Hawaii, Emily and Henry helped to build an Episcopal Church to house a growing congregation. In her early years of marriage Emily worked at NAS Pensacola, Communications Center and was active as a Red Cross Volunteer in the various locations where they were stationed. Emily and Henry, long time members of St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Gulf Breeze, Florida, have actively participated in several groups and ministries of the church, most notably as members of the choir. Until her death Emily was also an active and faithful member of Episcopal Church Women.
