Christine Baucom CHARLOTTE - Christine Baucom, 81, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2015. Christine was a wonderful homemaker who loved ceramics, knitting and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for many years with her husband Hoye. She is survived by her son, Mike Baucom and his wife Kathy; brother Johnny Whitley and his wife JoAnna; grandchildren, Laura, Lisa and Katie. She was preceded in death by her husband Hoye Baucome; brother Clarence Whitley and her sister Mary Lee Smiley. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 7:00p.m. until 8:30p.m. Wednesday, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill. A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Arlington Baptist Church, 9801 Arlington Church Rd., Mint Hill, NC 28227. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to thank Mrs. Edwards and the staff at Wilora Lakes.
