"My mother told me, when she was young she tended Aunt Rie and Uncle John's children. He was an undertaker and as children they would play in the caskets and hide. When she got older she came to Salt Lake to do housework. She worked at a home in Draper and was working there when she met my dad."
"Mother was the shortest one of her siblings, they were are tall and thin people. She was probably around 5'6" or 5'7", I'm not really sure, but I know that she was about two inches taller than my dad." - Marie Clements Deakin, Dec 2004
She died of a heart attack at age 78
