Franklinton, Washington Parish, LA—Wednesday, 3 December 1986

Jeptha N. Alford, 67, a resident of Route Two, Mt. Hermon, died Thursday, November 27th, at 11 p.m. at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in New Orleans.
He was retired from the U.S. Army and was a member of the Bogue Chitto Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Inez Varnado Alford of Mt. Hermon; two daughters, Mrs. Judy Maples of Mt. Hermon and Mrs. Walter (Susan) Searcy of Kentwood; a brother, Berchal Alford of Mt. Hermon; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Brock of Harahan and Mrs. Allie Brock of New Orleans; and three grandchildren.
The body lay in state at the Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton until the time for the funeral services, which were conduced on Saturday, November 29th, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Joe Baugh officiating.
Interment followed in the Bogue Chitto Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles Maples, Daniel Prine, David Cutrer, Kerry Prine, Walter Searcy and Ansel Stinson.
