Mrs. Martha Malone Dies After Short Illness

Mrs. Martha Malone, a beloved resident of Chickasaw County, died last Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J W Griffin, near Houston. She was seventy-four years of age.

Mrs. Malone was born in Helena, Ark., Dec. 16, 1862, coming to Mississippi while a child. When quite young she united with the Methodist Church and throughout these years remained true to her faith, living a consistent Christian.

At the age of sixteen she was married to Mr. R T Malone, whose death occurred in Dec. of 1929.

The funeral was held Saturday at the family cemetery.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. W D Blair, Mrs. J W Griffin, and Miss Della Malone, of Houston; Mrs. O F Dendy, of Anchor; Mrs. Jake Hill of McCondy; three sons, Chester and Richard Malone of Houston and Jake Malone, of Fulton. Twenty-eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren also survive.
