Mrs. Mary Malone Dies at Age of 79

Services for Mrs. Mary Adella Malone, 79, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Griffin, Monday at 6:45 am, as result of a stroke, were conducted from the Pleasant Ridge Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

The Rev. J E Rogers officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with Houston Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Malone was born Aug. 6, 1878, the daughter of the late Richard Thomas Malone and Martha Ann Bean Malone. She was a member of the Rhodes Chapel Methodist Church. She was a native of Calhoun County.

She leaves her daughter, Mrs. Griffin of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Jim Griffin of Houston, and Mrs. Adolph Blair of Baton Rouge, La.; three brothers, Richard and Chester Malone, both of Houston, and Jack Malone of Fulton, Miss.; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Millard Gill, Elmer Malone, Mitchell Wilkins, Avery Dendy, Lockhart Childress, and Willie Weaver. Honorary pallbearers were: Dave Griffin, M M McQuary, Ben Woods, Winfred Lancaster and T D Rowlette.
