George H. Allen

George H. Allen died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F.H. Breese, near Middlefield, Wednesday, March 8th. He was born in the town of Roseboom September 5, 1839, and removed to Frank lin with his parents, where he resided until after his marriage to Helen F. Mitchell, when he again removed to Roseboom and since resided there, a period of forty-one years. In November last failing health necessitated his removal to the home of the daughter mentioned where he was kindly cared for until the end.

He was a member of St. Timothy's church, Westford; also of Otsego Lodge, No. 138, F&AM, and the Elk Creek Grange. The funeral services were held from the family home Saturday, March 11th, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Bobbin of Schenevus and at his wishes the services at the grave were in charge of the Masonic fraternity. Interment at Middlefield.

Surviving him are two daughters and two sons; also four brothers and a number of nephews and nieces.
