Royce honorably served his country in the armed forces and was a retired member of the United Mine Workers of America Deer Creek Local # 1769.
He wore many hats in life, but his true role was that of a full time cowboy. He enjoyed spending his summers at Colton herding his cows and being with friends. He enjoyed his time with his grandkids and making good saddle horses. Royce had a lot of stories to tell, but he ran out of time to tell them all.
Survived by his wife, Elaine Allred, Cleveland; son, Mike (Lorena) Allred, Elmo; daughter, Chris Allred; Cleveland; grandchildren, Tana Allred, Price, Kenna Allred, Elmo, Dusty and Wyatt Allred, both of Cleveland; daughter, Angelee Fuller, Pendelton, Ore.; grandsons, Christopher, Nathan, Matthew and Kyle; brothers and sisters, William (Dixie) Allred, Arch (Marilyn) Allred, both of Cleveland, Pat Allred, Ferron, Reba (Marvin) Hansen, Elmo, Roanna (Bus) Rich, Cleveland, Leta (David) Robertson, Orangeville; sister-in-law, Patsy Allred, Cleveland; seven great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Jim.
Funeral service, Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, 11:30 a.m., Cleveland LDS Ward. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the church Monday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cleveland City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.
