Obituaries
Caryl E. Harris, 91, of Tompkins Memorial Health Center, died Sunday at the Health center.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Brian Hagglund officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. today at the Rose Room at Bruce's Funeral Home.
Survivors include sons, Bruce and Roger, both of Fort Dodge; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Caryl Elwin Harris was born Aug. 4, 1899, in Massena. As an infant he and his family moved to Union, Neb., where he attended school. He moved to Fort Dodge at age 18 and worked for Illinois Central Railroad. He married Esther Bloomquist in 1923 in Fort Dodge. He retired from the railroad in 1964 after 47 years of service. His wife died in 1978. In May 1979 he entered the west building at Friendship Haven. In June 1990 he entered Tompkins
Memorial Health Center.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Fort Dodge.
