Martha Dorenda Lyons Morgan, 95, born 14 Jan 1901, of Nahunta, died, 18 Mar 1996, at the Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center in Brunswick.
A native of Wayne County, now Brantley, she was the daughter of the late George Wesley Lyons and Fannie Cornelia Henderson Lyons. She had been married and divorced from the late Landon Ottis Morgan. She was a homemaker.
Survivors are three daughters, Sarah M. Harris, Myrtis Harris, and Gertrude Knox, all of Nahunta; one son, J. L. Morgan of Nahunta; 25 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; and 14 great great grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Mar. 20 at the chapel of Chambless Funeral Home with Rev. George Lee, Rev. Monroe Gill, Rev. Sharpe, and Rev. E. H Morgan officiating. Burial was in Rob Lewis Cemetery at Raybon.
Music was by George Lee and Sharon and the Sharpe Family. Songs were "Medals for Mothers," "Just as the Sun Went Down," "God on the Mountain," and "The Highest Hill."
Pallbearers were Bogie Kyser, Buddy Lyons, Lavon Lyons, Danny Crews, Kenny Morgan, and Gene Knox.
Chambless Funeral Home of Nahunta was in charge of arrangements.
